This module focuses on the general management principles and practices intended for information professionals working in all types of organizations especially in libraries and information sciences. The students are also taught the concept of managing an organization. The module taught students on how to relate to users and provide replies tactfully and diplomatically.
Other topic include the library as a system, organizational structure, functional levels, decision making, planning, organizing, leading and control & empowerment. Human resources issues such as recruitment, personnel development, performance appraisal, collection management policies, selection criteria, stock control, library finance and budget are covered.
