Descriptions:

This module will introduce to the students the fundamental and technical knowledge of network administration & management theory that will enables them to find a quick entrance to any aspect of network management practice. In additions to that, this is also support the students in understanding fully the basic
networking concepts.

Aims:

The aims of this module to:

• Develop the ability to manage Network operations.
• Comprehend the basic concepts of Network Management.
• Prepare students with the network administrator task to effectively operate and support a certain computer network system.

Learning Objectives:

On completion of this unit the students should be able to:

• Know and understand the basic concept of Network Administration and
  Management. 
• Identify and describe the different types of network topologies and evaluate
  ways one may be preferred over the other .
• Identify problems and make minor suggestion/repairs to computer networks
  using appropriate diagnostics software tool. 
• Explain and demonstrate how to correctly maintain LAN computer systems.
• Have basic knowledge and skills in administering the network for example
  creating login scripts, printer definitions, control programs ( BATCH files), etc.. 
• Develop knowledge in maintaining the network by performing routine
  maintenance task. 
• Have a basic knowledge and concept in Internet and Web management.
